Day trip Marrakech Ouzoud waterfall
The Ouzoud waterfalls (110 m high) are located near the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the province of Azilal, 150 km northeast of Marrakech. Ouzoud means “the act of grinding grain” in Berber. The bottom of the falls is accessible through a shaded path of olive trees. At the summit of the falls, there are a dozen old small mills that are still in use. You can also follow a narrow and difficult trail that leads to the road of Beni Mellal. When descending the gorges of the “wadi el-Abid” in a canyon sometimes the background is not distinguishable that is almost 600 meters down. It is the most visited site in the region. In the surroundings there are green valleys, mills, orchards and a magnificent gorges of the river. Many local and national associations run projects to protect and preserve the site.
Through Day trip to Ouzoud waterfall from Marrakech that takes around 3H driving, you will be able to discover the highest waterfalls of Morocco, go on a trek around the falls, ride the local boats to get to the water’s eye. Also you will come a cross the wild monkeys on your way down to the river, they are so friendly and able to feed them. After having lunch beside the river we will drive back to Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation.
